Dance Carnivale International is a production by a3 Casa Productora.

A dance competition for schools, amateur, and professional levels.

An exhibition platform for dancers whose main goal is to evaluate and reward the work of dancers that can help them in their artistic career.

TECHNIQUES

JAZZ - Jazz technique, modern jazz , Fosse, etc. Routine must consist of primarily jazz technique. A maximum of 3 gymnastic/acrobatic tricks are allowed.

LYRICAL - Routine should demonstrate balance, extension, isolations, and control utilizing the lyrics or mood of the music. A maximum of 3 gymnastic/acrobatic tricks are allowed

HIP HOP - Foundations, Club styles y Street styles. A maximum of 3 POWER MOVES or acrobatic tricks are allowed.

CONTEMPORARY - lyrical contemporary, contemporary dance, modern , fusion, floor work. 

BALLET - Primarly ballet or point technique including classical steps and movements. Routine must consist of ballet technique and repertory. Must include classical technique. Pointe shoes allowed. No gymnastic/acrobatic tricks are allowed.

OPENA routine with any of our listed categories or combinations of listed category styles. Acrobatic tricks are welcome in this category.

SOLOS | 70 dlls per dancer

DUETS  | 50 dlls per dancer

ROUTINE TIME LIMIT:

 
Solo: two minutes and thirty sec (2:30) max.

Duet/Trio: three minutes (3:00) max.

Small Group entries: three minutes (3:15) max.
Large Group & Super Group entries: four minutes (4:00) max.
Additional time can be purchased : 15 dlls/30 sec. each dancer/per routine 
 
A deduction of one-tenth point (.1) per judge will be made for every 15 seconds.

SCORES/AWARDS

BRONCE - 180 - 210 pts.

SILVER - 211-249 pts.

GOLD - 250-284 pts.

OUTSTANDING AWARD - 285-300 pts.

ADJUDICATIONS:

 

Routines must be performed during the set in which they are scheduled (when routines in their age group and dance category perform) and before the award session at the end of that performance set. If the routine cannot perform during the time in which they can´t be rescheduled.
 
The routine will be announced on stage at the end of the awards as an Adjudication and the appropriate medal or award given.
 
The routine will still receive a award based on how they score within our award scale (Outstanding Award, Gold, Silver and Bronce) and receive judges comments. However, the routine will not be eligible for overall awards.

SPECIALTY AWARDS

JUDGES CHOICE 

Our judges select routines that spoke to them on an exceptional job . This is outside of the parameters of the score sheets like story telling , creative choreography or amazing energy.

CARNIVALE AWARD

THE HIGHEST  SCORE  IN THE COMPETITION.

RULES & REGULATIONS:


• The dance studio must submit all entries. Independent entries will not be accepted. Studios are the only ones who may add/withdraw dancers from studio accounts and events.
 
• Any studio that makes an enrollment/routine change 15 days prior to the event is subject to a $5 fee for each change.
 
• Routines are expected to perform in the order they are scheduled. 

• Videotaping and movie cameras are prohibited.
 
• Still photography is limited to taking photographs of your own child. No professional photography set-ups/tripods/monopods allowed.
 
• If dance movements, music lyrics, or costuming are deemed to be too suggestive or otherwise inappropriate for our family audience, or if the music contains vulgar or inappropriate lyrics, the routine will be scored lower by the judges or disqualified from the competition.
 
• Air horns or similar devices are prohibited.
 
• Duet/Trios cannot win in Group categories.
 
• Be precise. When registering for a competition, enter Music Titles, Participant Names exactly as they should appear in the Program.
 
A $20 non-refundable deposit per routine is required to reserve or register an entry.  This deposit will be applied to the balance for those registrations. Deposits are non-transferrable to coming events.
 
The deadline to enter new routines and make a deposit is 30 days (4 weeks) prior to the competition. Routines may not be added after this date.

 
21 days prior to the competition, registrations must be completed, or they will not be populated in the show schedule.  
To be considered complete:
1- all routines must be entered correctly
2- payment must be made in full
3- music must be uploaded online 
 

All registration fees become non-refundable and non-transferable 30 days prior to the event . no exceptions. In case of cancellations, natural disasters, extreme weather changes, event and/or theater logistical changes, illnesses, political situations, wars, absence of participants, incomplete registrations, or any cancellation in general, THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.
 
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
Any performer competing in dance competitions takes certain inherent risks. These include, but are not limited to sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, broken bones and even dead. Participation in this competition indicates the acceptance of such risks by performers. Therefore by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold a3 Casa Productora LLC; its partners, agents, affiliates, officers, directors, or employees responsible for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them while in attendance and/or participating in any activity related to a DANCE CARNIVALE INTERNATIONAL Competition.
 
It is agreed that a3 Casa Productora LLC; its partners, agents, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and the hosting facility are not responsible for personal injury to contestants or spectators. DCI is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Do not leave your property and valuables unattended in the event center, theater, or dressing rooms.
